After much searching I came across the style of drawings I was looking for. The illustrations which served as a basis for this graphic identity came from the Educational Technology Clearinghouse (ETC) – a digital resource for schools in the state of Florida run by the Florida Center for Instructional Technology – who were subsequently kind enough to grant permission to use the illustrations I specified. The idea of the identity is that the illustrations can change from application to application – only the graphic treatment remains constant.
Partly in order to reduce costs and partly as a deliberate desire to reflect a craft aesthetic, the illustrations are always printed in one colour on matt or textured printing stock. The company name however, is printed on self adhesive paper – in the form of a sticker – which allows the introduction of colour within the identity and the possibility of applying it onto any material the client wants.
